Scholastic Year Inauguration
Kannur Regional Cherupushpa Mission League Scholastic Year Inauguration and Vice-Directors meet will be held at Barmariam Pastoral Centre , Sreepuram , Kannur on 07-06-2008.
Cherupushpa Mission League was inaugurated on 3 October 1947 at Bharananganam , Kottayam by Mar Thomas Tharayil, then the Auxiliary Bishop of Kottayam. In the beginning this organisation consisted of only 7 members , but now it has become the largest Laymen Mission Association in the Asia continent. It is spread in 17 Catholic dioceses in Kerala and has 6 lakh members . Kannur Region started functioning as an independent wing in the Archeparchy of Kottayam on 9 October 1981. Now this region consists of 34 Units in 4 Zones. It has representation in the State Commitee also.
Cherupushpa Mission League is a Catholic Association aims at Promoting Vocations and Personality Development.Its basic unit consists of 7 members which forms a group. Certain groups combine to form a Unit and Units form a Zone , Zone combine to form a Diocese. In Kerala , Mission League is in 17 Dioceses. Its Central office is Mathrubhavan At Bharananganam,Kottayam and State office is at POC Palarivattam Kochi.
